The Work Our church building was opened in September 1968. It has served us well, but attitudes to church use have evolved over the past forty years, so it is time to modernise the building. The main change is to the front entrance, to allow us to be welcoming and to provide a reception and refreshment area for functions which are held in the Sanctuary. This will also give us an opportunity to improve access to the front door of the building, in line with current best practice, and to undertake some maintenance work which is urgently necessary. Because the main thrust of this work is to make the church more open - both physically in the sense of being lighter and more spacious, and more importantly in terms of being more welcoming, we call this project "Open to God – Open to All" The work started in April and finished early in September 2009. We held a celebration then, open to our members, friends and neighbours – and to God.
