Baptists understand the church as a community of believers gathered in the name of Jesus Christ for worship of God, to tell people about Him and be continually involved within the local area. So the activities of the church will reflect this. We are involved in activities that welcome people across the whole spectrum of involvement in the church, from small prayer meetings to community Fun Days and lunches for seniors!
Westbury Baptist is ideally placed on Reedley Road. The church is close to Westbury Village, Stoke Lane, Henleaze and just around the corner from Elmlea Infant and Junior School.
In September 2009 the church celebrated the completion of its new entrance area and servery with the “Open To God, Open to All” project. The project was specifically designed to open the building (and activities) up out to the surrounding community and make more people aware of the existence of the church.
In addition to the plethora of activities available within the church, Westbury Baptist also holds a number of regular events which are open to both church and non-church members, such as Wot Tots, Church Lunch, The Women’s Group, a number of Book Groups, 628 Youth Club and The Man To Man Breakfast. A large part of the church is made up of young people; therefore The Uniformed Organisations which operate within it are a crucial part of the church. The church has a partnership with Lawrence Weston Baptist Church, and occasionally the two hold events together throughout the year to which all are welcome.
