Uniformed Organisations

The church hosts or sponsors packs, troops and colonies from the Scout and Guide uniformed organisations. We feel really privileged to be involved in the awesome children’s and youth work that Scouting and Guiding does. We host seven groups:

28th Bristol Brownies

The 28th Brownies meet one evening a week during term time. We have an exciting programme of activities for girls between the ages of seven and ten. If you would like to find out more or put your daughter’s name down on our waiting list please contact Julie Cutler on 0117 9685664 or by email  (juliecutler©blueyonder•co•uk)  .

195th Bristol Brownies

The 195th Bristol Brownie Pack meet on Thursday evenings during term time. Brownies are girls aged seven and ten years old and we currently have spaces in the pack. For more information call 0117 9621731.

167th Westbury Baptist Beaver Colony

The Beavers meet one evening a week during term time. We are the youngest section of the Scout Group offering a wide ranging programme for boys and girls aged six and eight. If you are interested in your child joining us please contact Jo by email  (jo•savery©blueyonder•co•uk)   and we can add them to our waiting list.

167th Scouts

Scouts is about doing what Scouts want to do! The Patrol Leaders plan the programme, every meeting, every game, every camp happens because it’s asked for. The only restriction to what we do is the imagination of the PLC (and a few scouting rules). Scouts are boys or girls and are aged between about 10 and about 14. See more information about our scout group. Whether you’re looking for music or mud, craft or camping, boats or badges; Scouting fits the bill; so email the scouts  (167thscouts©gmail•com)  !

Explorers

Explorers is a group of young people, male or female, aged between 14 and 18. Like the Scout section, the Explorers plan their own programme which is only limited by imagination (and some Scout rules). However we have previously taken part in local, national, and international activities. We have done various activities from scavenger hunts around our local area and some have even gone as far afield as Africa! While Explorers have adult leaders they do not “lead” the unit evenings, the Explorers themselves do that. The “leaders” are on hand to help and support the Explorers achieve the programme that they want.
If you want the fun, excitement and adventure get in touch we’d love to welcome you.
