Prayer

‘Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances’

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

At Westbury Baptist Church prayer takes place in a variety of settings from Sunday services, to prayer groups and in meetings.

There are many opportunities for praying in groups within the community. A regular Prayer Group met monthly on a Monday evening, inteneded as a time for quiet reflection & which is valued by those who come. Sadly this has stopped for the time being as new lockdown restrictions are in place (Jan 2021). Our home groups offer opportunities to pray with others & several small groups gather on a regular basis to pray together, at the moment onlione via Zoom.

The Worship and Prayer Team oversees all aspects of our prayer life. The function of the team is to facilitate and implement ideas as well as to research and explore new possibilities.

Some Resources for Prayer which we find helpful are on our Links page.

Zoom Prayer Gathering

The online prayer gathering will be continuing every Wednesday 8pm via Zoom & will last approximately half an hour. This is an opportunity to pray for our own walk with the Lord, and to uphold those around us. James will lead these throughout term time.

Monday Prayer group Prayer dates

We will be meeting at the usual time of 7.30pm for about half an hour. Everyone is welcome to join us – we usually use a psalm or scripture as a way into prayer, spend some time in praise and thanks and then pray for the world and for others. The next date is the 11th January - we will be meeting via Zoom for the time being.

Please get in touch with Eveline Johnstone on 0117 962 5132 or at eveline.johnstone@blueyonder.co.uk if you would like to join & she will send you the zoom link.

The next dates are 11th January, 25th January, 8th February, 22nd February, 8th March and 22nd March.
